I have been a playwright for many years, and am now also a novelist. My first novel, Summoning, will be published by Night Shade Books in April, 2012. Haven't yet finished celebrating. Pretty sure I can keep it up until then.
I had the honor of writing the scripts for the blockbuster video games Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, and Legacy of Kain: Defiance. I am proud to be an associate artist of the Colony Theater.
I taught playwriting for ten years at Foothill College, and am just completing a manual on playwriting that I hope will be useful to others. About 20% of my playwriting students win contests, prizes, readings, productions. I hope the manual will be equally useful. The Merciless Manual of Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Playwriting. I look forward to teaching more workshops.
I have been a martial artist most of my life. I studied fencing in high school and college, then discovered broadsword fighting in the Society for Creative Anachronism. I did that for seventeen years, and was knighted (the fifth woman knight) twenty minutes after coming off the throne as the Queen of the West (William the Lucky's first queen). My broadsword fighting career was ended by surgery for a herniated disc that left me with extensive nerve damage. Last year, however, I discovered that I can practice Iaido, the Japanese art of the sword. I recently earned my black belt in Toyama-rhu Iaido.
